98 xr70 fuel overflow

Recommended Posts

I have fuel coming out the overflow tube on my xr70, and I've tried everything I can think of to get it to stop, with no luck. Cleaned the needle and seat (many times), and tried adjusting the float height.

The rubber tip on the needle looks fine, no grooves or anything, and definatly no dirt in there anymore. If I blow through the gas line, and lift up on the float, the air flow stops, so I would assume that the needle and seat is good?..

Is there anything else I can do, or does it sound like the float needle just needs to be replaced, even though it looks good?

Thanks for any advice, Cody

well, it had stopped overflowing, but today it started doing it again, so I'm assuming the float is sticking, i don't know how it could be, but thats the only thing that makes any sense. I plan to get a new float, float pin, and needle/seat, then just hope that fixes it.

Thanks, Cody
