L4-S1 fusion

Hey, I had a bike land on me while i was on the ground and it ended up breaking my back. Had to get an L4-S1 fusion. I'm 2 weeks out of surgery and still pretty sore. I was wondering if there was any kind of light exercise i could do to keep my core strong until i'm recovered?

I do quite a bit of core exercises in my work out's, but I'm not to sure what would/wouldn't effect your back in this case. Don't want to suggest something and have it make you back worse! Maybe planks would be ok for your back, they work great just be careful with your injury.

Planks:

I have a friend from racing who races just as much as I do, and does quite well, who has had a few fusions through out the years. He's 48 I believe, and made a strong recovery from each one. Good luck with your recovery!
