KDX80 Woes

Recommended Posts

Picked up a 1987 KDX80 to fix up by Christmas for my son and discovered today the rings got stuck and gouged up the cylinder wall pretty good. It has a 514p2 piston in it. there is a 49mm piston available but I think the cylinder is too bad to repair. Does anyone know where to find a cylinder for the bike?

Can't you sleeve it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kawasaki-KDX80-1980-1982-Cylinder-Sleeve-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2eae5ac1efQQitemZ200493679087QQptZLHQ5fDefaultDomainQ5f100#ht_500wt_956

Ask the machine shop anyway, you might be surprised.

Not to drop a deuce in the punch bowl, but that auction says "cylinder head", I'd ask a few questions before bidding.
