CP piston worth the extra $$$ 13.5/1 still pump gas?

Time for a piston in my 08 250 xcfw and here are my choices:

1. CP piston kit, 13.5/1 - $229 shipped

2. JE piston kit, 13.1:1 - $191 shipped

3. Wiseco piston kit, 13.1:1 - $155 shipped

Looking for the best bang for the buck. Also is 13.5:1 still good to go on pump gas?

Yep, you are safe on pump 91-93 up to 13.5:1. Just use a good brand like Sunoco or BP. Let me know if you have any questions.

I ran a JE piston in my bike the first rebuild. One thing I didn't like was that it didn't have the coated skirt. Felt no real difference in power either. Went back to stock last time.

Hey Wiseco guy, why does your catalog list the 450 piston @ 97mm? The bigger of the two spec'd sizes is 96.97mm (OEM). I only ask this because I chose a ProX which has a similar discrepancy except it's smaller (96.94mm). It would seem that with your piston being forged, it would have a greater change in dia as things heat up. Your know how would be appreciated.

It was my year to go to the RM400 instead. Hopefully I'm back on the roster for the UP in 2011!

Ran a JE in my CRF and I did notice a bump in bottom/mid power. Got good life out of it too.

Wiseco lists all of our applications by bore size, not piston size, which is why our listing says 97mm. The pistons OD's are sized appropriately to run at the designed clearance for each application. I would have to check with our technical department to say for sure what our actual piston OD is, or you could give us a call and check with our tech support. Hope that helps.
