2009 klx250s jetting questions

picking the bike up new tomorrow. living 0 to 5000 above sea level. riding all year tenps from 20f to 100f:ride:

plan to: de-smog whatever smog nonsence there is.

remove the airbox snorkle if the intake noise is tolerable without it.

LEAVING THE STOCK EXHAUST AS IT IS (QUIET IS KEY TO ME)

need to find a starting point with jetting...:smirk:

-drill out the hole in the bottom of the slide??????????

-cut the slide spring??????????

-main jet?????

-pilot jet?????????

I AM NOT LOOKING TO MAKE THIS INTO A RACE BIKE, I HAVE THOSE ALREADY. I JUST WANT TO UN-CORK THIS THING FOR PLUNKING AROUND.

I strongly suggest getting a James Dean jetting kit as well as an extended fuel screw.

Opening the airbox like you suggest will be fine, it woill only be a little louder to others and only when you are hard on the gas.

I have used the jd kits in my ktms & thought they were great but i do not see it listed for the klx250s
