250 F 2009 Cam Chain Tensioner Installation

Hi guys,

I have a question about cam chain tensioner installation on my 250f. The manual says to install it with the stopper pointing rightwise, but in the exploded view (and OEM parts pic on this site) it looks like it is the other way around. So which is it?

Thanks for the help!

Yeah, the parts fiche shows it the other way around.

I distinctly remember my tensioner being installed with the ratchet up/in/right. Like the manual says.

And I have always put it in this way.

Good eye:thumbsup:

Honestly, I think it would work fine either way.

there is a reason fro it being install one way over the other.. something to do with the catch on it for resetting it can be hit more easily then one direction potentialy resuling in it backing in loosening the chain.

Ok, thanks! I thought that the text must be right!
