Alpinestars Tech 3 or 7

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a black and red boot and I currently have a pair of Tech 7's on order but there on back order until June the 3rd. The problem is that this is the 3rd time they switched the date, so now I'm looking at the Tech 3's. I'm not a racer and probably will only ride once a month. Is the difference b/t the 3 and 7 that much? I'm not looking to spend more than $250 for the boots and I'm getting the Tech 7's brand new for $240

After a three year exit from owning and riding I was amazed at the price increase in boots. My old Tech 8's were 290 new and now they are crazy expensive. I loved the feel of the bootie and boot but couldn't justify nearly 400 to get a pair. So I compromised. I purchased the Tech 3 for 175 and bought a set of Tech 8 booties to use. I tried on the 3's at the local shop to size it right and I love them.

I ride about two weekends out of each month. I have no trouble with buckles or protection. If money is a big factor get the Tech 3's. You can get them for less than 200. They'll work well for you.

How much more safe (protection) wise are the 10's over the 8's. I'm stuck between the 3's and the 10's. Are the Tech 3's good enough for MX and jumps because most videos say they are for trails and woods. NEED HELP

Sounds like money isn't an option. Get the 10's and ride with confidence of having the best Alpinestar has to offer.

DUDE gotta have 10's...I used to run tech 6's, 7's but now that I got the 10's theres NO GOING BACK!! They are great, they are the best boot on the planet in my mind. (well i havent tried those nikes cuz well... no one has).

Tech 3 to tech 10 is NO comparison.. The tech 10's are more comfortable, and the protection is much greater

Pretty much my exact feelings. Had mine since nov. and I HATE them. They are uncomfortable and the buckle quality is terrible. The damn things take forever just to unbuckle and take off. Sadly as my income keeps dropping, it looks like I am stuck with these POS.

Seems like there's no in between for the Tech 3s. Either people love them or hate them. Me, I really like mine. In all honesty tho', I've never had anything else to compare them with. I'm on my 4th year with them.

Those buckles do suck compared to tech 10's.. I mean you got 4 straps right? The tech 10s are only 3 straps with aluminum hardware.

what size are you looking at ? I have some tech 3's and tech 8's that are almost new that were just outgrown. My kids feet grow faster than weeds.

PM me with a size if you are interested and I can send you some pictures.

Looking to buy a used Beta 2017 500 RRS from outside California.  Can I plate (Register with CA DMV) the bike in CA?  If so what is the best way?  Don't have the money to put down for a new bike from a Dealer in CA.  Any help or sugguestions would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

This continues to be my favorite trail/race weapon!! In our Eastern tight woods, power is not King, handling is. And this thing outhandles them all!!!!
