DR650...drill holes in fat bars or not?

Mounting fat bars on my DR. Choke and starter plastic housing units, one on each side, have a interior plastic stud that goes into a hole in the OEM bars.

Should I try to replicate the hole positions on my fat bars and drill or just cut the plastic studs off the housing units confident that the screw pressure alone will prevent them from rotating while in use?

Thanks, Joe

Id stay away from drilling holes in your bars. Easy enough to dremel of the tabs on the plastic. Mine don't rotate at all.

Don't drill holes- Dremel/File/Side-Cutters- Screws do a fine job of holding the assemblies to the bar- No problem.

Never drill holes in aluminum bars!!. File off the nub, install and enjoy.

Just remove the nubs and if the controls don't snug up a couple wraps of electrical or friction tape on the bars will help.
