[02 cr80]

I have a 2002 CR80 that will not run. Every so often it starts for 30 seconds to a minute and then dies out. It has a brand new top end, gets spark, and the carb is cleaned. The person working on the bike thinks that it is the top end but that was rebuilt and has about an hour on two on it. Any suggestions??

Check your reeds...you might have a cracked petal.

+1 on the reeds.. also check spark plug gap, make sure the plug is wet with gas after a few kicks , clean filter

one time my buddy had a similar problem after a new top end couldn't figure it out until i popped his seat and filter off to reveal a blue shop towel he forgot to take out of his air boot haha ?

Actually, it is air, spark, and fuel. You can have all the compression in the world, but if there is no air to fuel the fire, it won't run.

ok ok true but what is compression without air ?

Compression is a function, not an ingredient.

compression implies air because thats what your compressing ... i think we are making the same point here haha

sorry to change subject but does any one know if the sensor from the fly wheel on an 83 model will fit on all models up to a 92? not to sure of the age of mine so im buying with a big gamble any help would be grate thanks.
