Another cool RZ500 conversion part deux

Recommended Posts

A few people seemed to like the last RZ conversion so here's another twist on it.

This guy kept the stock steel RZ frame and tank but adapted R6 front and rear suspension

along with R6 bodywork all in Yamaha retro yellow.

This guy must be made of money to have this kind of hobby...Also, I spotted a MV Agusta in the background.

Since he used the stock engine, frame and tank, it's actually not that bad.

Check the prices of used R6 suspension/wheels/bodywork and you might be surprised at how

affordably it could be done. Many with RZ's sell them cheap when the body panels/suspension

are bad because they assume the value is in staying "original". There you go.

Nice job. I really appreciate the work when it looks like it was originally made that way. Given my druthers, I'd have kept the original paint scheme of red/whie/black, but on the R6 body. That would have been even more distinctive. Here in the US, yellow isn't that rare.

Many agree, and the one with the ex-GP fairing will be in the white/red/black when it's done.

Personally I like the yellow, a metallic royal blue like the Yam/Red Bull GP bikes would be nice too.

Like this one.

That frame on the marlboro is special made? definetly looks like some pieces where cut and rewelded. I can spot the TZR 250 swingarm a mile away though and what looks like some other 250 parts.

I want one so bad. I already have an R6 that I wanted to put this motor in it.

Yes, the RSS500 is a nice engine, get a quote from Steve for a full engine/fuel/electrics/pipe setup shipped to Alabama.

Why do I look at these threads? There's a few more things on the "stuff I want to own before I die" list. My wife hates you, she just doesn't know it yet....

Although you're probably half joking, a couple guys I know have resolved it when the wife,

uh, gets a little envious of the bike's time, by getting her wrenching in the garage.

LOL, this might be a little blasphemous in some man caves, but it's

a lot happier and cheaper than some other alternatives and you get the bike.

Now that your issue's semi-resolved.....here's some more pics......
