Decarbonizing 4 Stroke Head

Just removed cylinder head from my bike and would like to clean it all up. I have never done it before so looking for some ideas on the best way to do it. Do I need to remove valves?

I removed the valves and springs. Then I took it to a local machine shop and the cleaned it all up for a few dollars. It looked like new!

Thanks. I will look into removing the valves and see how difficult it is.

not hard, just gotta find something to compress the spring with and a magnet to pickup the valve retainers then the valve will slip out by its self

I kept vavles in and used a sprayable sea-foam, and a brass brush. Cleaned the head up real nice. Takes all the carbon off.
