Trails in so. calif.

So I've recently started riding trails and find it much better than the desert that I grew up riding. My buddy and I have been riding the yamaha trail up by arrowhead and hitting the MS trail. Unfortunately those are the only trails that we know about. I hear there are some good trails in Big Bear but have no idea where they are. Does anyone know where I could get some maps or are these just "secret word of mouth" trails.

Here's the Forest Service map of the area. If you have done the "Malcom Smith" trail, that is pretty much the most "technical" in the area. There are still a lot of trails though.

You guys should check out the Los Padres Forest area (Gorman but you go up into the mountains).

And then, for some real single track riding, Kennedy Meadows:thumbsup:

I just took the wife up to Big Bear this past weekend. She's just learning to ride at 48 y/o and it's a good place for beginners and old guys like me. Go to the discovery center on the north side and they sell a real nice map from the Cal. Trail Users Coalition for $3. Cant beet the price! It's pretty detailed but easy to read. Shows all the trails from Silverwood to BB. North and south of the lake
