I am setting the valves on this engine having replaced the intake valves with OEM. They measure exactly the same as the original valves and are exactly the same assembled height. Problem: the intake tappet screws are below the lock nuts when set to the proper clearance. The exhaust screws are approx. 3 threads above the locknuts when adusted. This seems very wrong to me. (I got the engine in a box, so I don't know what things looked like previously.) Cam is OK, rollers are OK, bearings are OK. Edited May 5, 2011 by Grandview Problem solved.
