TTR 125 Clutch Question

While I was out of town last week, my son called to say his 2007 TTR 125 was broken. He described a fried clutch, but it hadn't been slipping at all prior. When I got home, it was clear the clutch was completely disengaged. Before tearing into the case, I tried adjusting the cable all the way and was able to get a little engagement. Finally, I removed the cable entirely. With the cable off, the clutch fully engaged and could not be made to slip at full throttle in any gear with my 230 pounds on it!

Am I correct in assuming that the disc and pressure plate are okay? Is there a gross adjustment that can be done without too much difficulty?

Thanks in advance for any help!
