If I buy a YTZ7S, will I need the bigger battery box?

Recommended Posts

My e-start on my 2011 KTM 250 XC does not seem to want to work with the stock battery. I have read that I should upgrade to the YTZ7S battery for a higher output. I also read that some are recommending a bigger battery box. Is this necessary? Will it fit in the stock box?

Why not run a turntech 2.5ah. I run one on my drz 440 with 12-1 cr. Cranks right up. The turntech cost $99 and only weighs .7 lbs unlike the 6lb yuasa. Oh and the lipo batteries don't discharge like the lead acids do theyre good to sit for 6 months.

I was wondering the same thing about the YTZ7. I think I'm going to wait a few more days and try to get a new shorai lipo

If it already has a 5 series, then the YTZ7S will fit. If it has a 4 seties you need a bigger box

If you are thinking of a Li battery for a 2 stroke, TurnTech recommends their 5 Ah battery.
