1995 KTM 250exc needs a facelift.

I just picked up a great running 95 KTM 250exc that I would like to update a little if it is possible. Has anyone put newer plastics on a 95 era bike? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The bike is too old to put any newer style plastic but you could put a nice grafic kit on instead. These guys might have something or could make it. ridepg.com

You can put the 05 plastic on your bike.

It's not a bolt on job. It's a total custom

Build. I did it on my 1997 300 exc and it

Was a lot of work. You can check the bike

Out on the Ktm 300 picture post. The bike is

How much did you have to mod to get it togther? Looks great!

If you can weld and fabircate parts. This

Build won't be that hard. It just takes time and

patients.

The first thing I mounted was the tank and

shrouds. The Shrouds line up to the radiators

Really good. I welded a bolt on the top of

the frame for the tank mount. That is the

easy part.

With the complete plastic kit that needs.

To be ordered. I also ordered both airbox

side panels and all the hardware to mount

The seat. Bikebandit.com is a great place to

order this stuf because you can view all the

Parts you need and see how they go together.

If I ever would do this project again, I would of

Raised the top of the subframe a 1/2 inch.

The seat just sits a little low on the subframe. I would Cut the

Top off of the subframe and weld some 1/2 inch spacers. I ended up adding

some 1/2 inch Delrin plastic to the top of the subframe.

I mounted the rearfender side and side panels with tape. So

I could line them up before I did any drilling and taping in

The frame. I also made a steel tab out of 1/8 thick Material.

For the seat mount. I welded it to the subframe and drilled

a hole to mount the Seat hardware. Then it's just drill and tap

Holes in subframe for the rear seat and side panels.

I wish I had some pics to show of the bike with the seat

off but I just sold the bike. I hope this can help you

out a little. You can also go to ktmtalk.com and there

Is a forum for older ktm's. I know there is some guys on

There that have done this to and they can help you out.

Thats a lot of work to put into a 1995 bike. I don't have the time or money for a project like that plus the bike is only worth at best a $1000. I would put the money in the engine and suspension up keep if was mine.

I never said it was cheap. I did the conversion 4 years ago

and I got my money's worth out of it. I owned my 97 for 10

Years and I put way more money into it then that plastic kit

Cost me.

I did end up selling it for $1000. LOL
