When starting it, how long do I keep the choke on?
How to tell if the valves need adjusted?
1. Depends on temperature assuming jetting is correct. Rich jetting means short time with choke on. Colder temps usually need a little more time. Listen to the engine as its running. If its loading up, push the choke in. Usually I will let mine run for 30 seconds or so, then start apply throttle and see how it takes it. When it will take it, push off and test again. DO NOT let it sit and idle for long periods with choke on.
2. When its hard to start, that's a sign you let dirt get in and its time to adjust, or replace the valves. Mine will start warm with half a kick to 3 kicks.
