Motocross Reed to Race Outdoors with American Honda!

After talking with TwoTwo team and Honda people yesterday, it's clear Chad Reed will race @AmericanMotocross series this summer

I don't really know how to take that. Obviously he will be racing the nationals, but it is weird how they called it American Motocross series. Is he racing for American Honda or for Two Two Motorsports with factory help from American Honda?

Either way I'm pumped to see him outdoors this season, I just hope it is on team Two Two.

MAX!!!

That is good news...I agree in that he does race better when he is his own boss...

There happens to be a little series in europe that the entire rest of the world races (unless they're fast enough to go stateside). Probably trying to avoid confusion for the rest of the world.

j/k Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross doesnt really sound like it would be confusing to the Gran Prixs. but who knows lol maybe lucas oil backed out.

I think it will be TwoTwo Motorsports with full Honda support. You shoulda seen Chad's pit on Saturday. You had Lars, the Showa/Honda suspension guy and at least one or more Honda guy working on that bike all day. It was really cool. After the 1st timed practice, they had a big discussion under the tent with KDub too. Then Lars took the forks off and the Honda/Showa guy too them to the Honda truck and brought them back about 30 minutes later presumably with some new settings. It was cool.

Awesome. That would be great if American Honda supported Two Two and gave more to Geico.

MAX!!

Honda is going to back up Two Two Motorsports. I also heard from a good source that Two Two is looking to add 1-2 riders for next years supercross.

Who cares what they call the it. TwoTwo motorsports American Honda. As long as Reed is on a bike racing this summer in the USA. If we can just get Stewart to commit another epic season awaits.

Stewart can't even commit to a Supercross Awards Banquet... Maybe he'll have someone race the nationals for him as well!

i think stew blew his knee out thats y he was a nosho ,

he is not gonna drop all the sponsors that took his racing in SX to jump into the factory rig

also from what i understand reed is going as twotwo motosports with factory backing by honda (like stews team)

pretty much a factory bike tuned by PC

I was to the right of you about 10 ft. at the most ncc. I loved watching all that stuff. Also, from what I saw there was no PC guys over there. All factory Honda along with Lars.

Stewart was not at the banquet but he was spotted at one of the tables in the casino at the Hard Rock where the banquet was. That was pretty cowardly.

Today on RacerX Notebook (Make sure you read last sentence!):

It appears Chad Reed will race the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, and do it with his TwoTwo Motorsports Bel-Ray Racing team (some suspected he would take one of the vacated Team Honda spots). Reed’s team continues to get additional support from the factory team, with not only works parts on his bike, but also help under the tent from the factory mechanics. Also, the team is entering silly season talks for more than just Reed—rumors suggest the squad may find the funding to make Ryan Dungey an offer for 2012.
