2008 KX450F Front Brake Master Cylinder Problem

Recommended Posts

I have a 2008 KX450f, I purchased the bike used and have had some problems. I have had the dealer rebuild the front brake master cylinder twice and both times after 20 or 30 minutes the lever looses all pressure and come all the way to the bar. I am going to rebuild it myself and the only question I have is what is that little disk that floats around in the reservoir? Is that supposed to be snap ringed in place? Which side is up? I can find no info in the service manual or online.

Thank You

Not shown in picture, but included in the rebuild kit??

If you go to moose racing you can see the piece, there is a dime sized hole in the fluid area that it sits in, you pull the cover and the rubber seal and it just lays in that recess.

Hmmm, not like that on my CRF or WR. They have nothing under the diaphrpam.

Never done my KX.
