Motocross Glen Helen USGP

Recommended Posts

I think that it would be a long shot that any channel would cover it.

But miracles do happen.

Just curious what station, if any, is showing the USGP this coming weekend?

David Bailey joins forces with Youthstream for USGP:

Bailey won the Grand Prix of the United States in 1983 (Unadilla, 250cc class) and in 1985 (Carlsbad, 500cc class). The American Motocross Legend, who is now enjoying a successful career as TV commentator, will be enhancing the promotion of the USA Grand Prix in Glen Helen and will also commentate the Grand Prix on television together with Youthstream TV Commentator Paul Malin, a former GP winner himself.

Being a Tv commentator for the GP, how will Bailey welcome the fans watching the US GP?

“It has been many years since the GP's were held here in the US and it is my hope that this event will be as exciting as it was during the 70's and 80's when ABC's Wide World of Sports covered the Carlsbad USGP. As kids, all of us American riders dreamed of winning that race against Europe's finest on TV as it was the only televised event of that era. I am glad it is back and glad to be part of the broadcast!”

All that and I still cant tell where we can watch the race:bonk:

Doesn't look like it. So far Mike Allesi is the only "top" pro entered. He showed well last year also. Weston peick and Christian Craig also, Crraig could be a darkhorse? Never seen him on a big bike. Zach osborne and Travis Baker in the MX2 among other less known guys. I'm going to be watching for Michael Leib on the Husky TCi250!!

Props to Mike Alessi for representing the USA on our soil. I can understand most of those guys not wanting to race out of fear of getting hurt for the nationals. If Stewart isn't going for the title, he ought to race this one.

Dietrich should do well. Nice to see him signed up.

Pretty sure Bobby Garrison isn't on Husky anymore.
