1996 CR125/250 Frame swap?

Recommended Posts

I have a complete 1996 CR125 with a blown motor. I would like to get a 250 frame and build it as a 250. My questions is: will all of the the bodywork and suspension fit on the 250 frame? The 125 is in great shape minus the engine and I can get a 250 frame for less that $100. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Plastics are the same, suspension, I am not sure about. Forks are only 43mm on the 125 I believe, but the clamps should swap over if you were really wanting to use the smaller forks. Not sure about the geometry differences though. Not sure about the shock either.

Yes, I believe the 96 250 forks are 46mm

OK, I picked up a 94 frame and need to know what year engines will fit. I think 92-01, but am not for certain. Thanks for any help.
