How to safety wire DRZ for trackdays

Recommended Posts

I've seen a few threads about this but figured I'd ask. What all needs to be wired? I know the oil bolts and bolts on the brakes but what else? Any tips would be appreciated, I'd rather not get turned away because I don't have it set up properly.

It's probably going to depend on the race track/owner and/or race club what requirements are for safety wire and other tech requirements.

Popular things to hit with the wire are (as you mentioned) caliper bolts, oil drain plugs, but also oil filter cover bolts, coolant drain bolt, coolant filler cap, oil filler cap and brake pad pins. Sometimes, you can get away with using clips rather than safety wire, they are sturdy and reuseable.
