2007 crf250x stall

I recently bought a 2007 crf250x, I have done the AP mods, except the pink wire. This weekend we went out to our land where we have a track and 14 miles of trails. The bike has had the quick snap bog, but, for some reason did not this weekend. It rode well in the woods, however on my 3rd lap of the track it bogged down and would not restart. I pushed it halfway back to the truck and tried to start it again and 1st kick started right up (about 10 minutes after it stalled). I took it back into the woods (on the tight technical harescrable section) it stalled again and would not start for 5-10 minutes. My question is, does this sound like and overheating issue (there was no coolant comng out of the overflow and coolant is full) or a jetting issue, or does the x have some sort of cut-off. I've thought about getting a new accel. pump and/or a new water pump (the Boyesen one). What do you think? I'm lost, thanks,

Its not a cooling issue. You would know if your bike over heated...the coolant in the overflow would be boiling.

How many hours in the bike? The bogging doesn't sound like a valve issue but not being able to start the bike when hot is a "closed up valve" symptom. Have you checked the valve clearance since this happened? I would start there before looking adding new parts.

long shot here...but you might want to clean your carb thoroughly. I got the feeling the motor is getting starved. Then after awhile, the fuel comes back in and you're able to start it again. Only to run out in a few minutes.

That doesn't sound like a long shot. It sounds very plausible.

If your jetting is stock, it will never run correctly.

Amen to that !!:thumbsup:

Sounds like the vent tube for the fuel tank is clogged. May be in the vent tube or in the gas cap, but sounds like air is not getting into the tank.

i wsa gonna mention that as well,it sounds like it could be vapor lock{just had my weedeater do that to me today}

Thanks for the suggestions, I am currently working nights and have not been able to get to the bike. The carb was fully cleaned out 4 hours ago (riding hours), when I first got it. While it was out it was rejetted to rick ramsey's suggestions. I think the leak jet was left alone, main 175, and pilot at 52, there is no needle clip position adjustment on the stock needle. I also placed a finger fuel/air screw. How likely is it the battery, I replaced the stock battery with a cheap one off of eBay? When this happened it would not turn over with the push start d/t battery being dead and I was having to kick it.

your bike dosnt need the battery to run

That's what I figured, but someone mentioned the stator not having enough energy. I'm used to 2 strokes and all this new electrial and 4 stroke is totally different. Thanks

      Hey I have a crf250x 2005 I was riding today in top gear flat out and when I slowed down blue smoke just poured out the exsaughst then I happened to open the air box lid and saw it has what looked like engine oil in it then took out air filter and noticed that there was splatters of engine oil on the inside and that and the channel that goes to the carby had engine oil all over it.
      Also bike got a top end rebuild 15 hours ago
      The engine still runs good and sounds normal
      why would this be happening on a resonabley fresh engine

      Hey everybody. Quick question for y'all. I recently went riding and about halfway through my ride my motor seized on my '07 CRF250X. I haven't investigated it much but I checked the oil when I got home and there basically was none so I'm assuming that was the culprit. There weren't any metal shavings in the filter or on the plug either. At this point I'm trying to decide to rebuild the motor or just sell the bike as is and let the next buyer deal with it (they would know the deal obviously.) I feel that I'm pretty mechanically inclined but rebuilding a CRF engine is a bit out of my league and I assume paying a shop to do it would put me out more money than the bike is worth. So, I have this question to ask; what would be a fair price for a pretty dang nice shape 07 CRF250X, with a seized motor with an unknown extent of internal damage?

      I have two rides in on my new Rekluse auto clutch and I have to say I'm very pleased. The install wasn't hard, but was pretty much a all afternoon sort of project. I also installed a left hand rear brake kit and a two finger cluth over-ride with the adjuster on the perch (which I rarely seem to need). It has all worked great right from the beginning. After struggling to get up a tricky hill in first gear, I tried it in second and the autoclutch helped me clean the hill easily. Not having to worry about clutch action in techinical sessions has also eased fatigue and just made it more fun all the way around. I ride mountain bikes alot, and having both brakes up on the bars has also been nice as it makes for a set-up just like the bicycle - in fact I like that as much as not having to worry about clutch manipulation. The brake on the bar is especially nice on tricky downhill sections where you need to paddle, such as nasty rock/rut stuff. So first impressions are that it was worth the investment -making the ride more enjoyable and easier at the same time!

      I was driving the bike for 15min or so and all of the sudden the bike stalled. I tried starting it again with no luck. I took the spark plug out to see if there is spark so i ground the spark plug to the frame and there is no spark. I even put a new spark plug in the bike and still nothing. Any ideas what i should check??
