Where the clutch kicks in makes a big power differance, needs to engage at about 8500 rpm, that means the engine is screaming before the bike is moving.

Might be better off moving up to one of the more competetive 50s if the kid is ready for it.

X2. KTM or Cobra , if you want him to be competitive

For the money you'll spend on mods for the jr,,,,you might as well buy a good used pw.. Should be able to find a nice for $500 or so.
