Jetting from sea level to 1K feet?

Recommended Posts

2007 CR250

100% bone stock bike.

We run 93 octane pump gas only.

Zero issues.

It looks like my son is going to Ponca City MX in Oklahoma. We live in south Louisiana (sea level) and will be going to 1000 feet elevation. The temperature should be the same 95 - 100 degrees with high humidity. Will I need to rejet?

Depends how finicky he is. 1,000' is not a whole lot.

Stock bike would jetted slightly rich for 95 degrees, so the extra altitude may be an issue though more than atitude, is air pressure and to some extent, humidity. Might not be a bad idea to being a leaner main jet and be prepared to drop the needle a clip or two.
