Changing sprokets what is the best setup for motocross only?

I tried a 53 on my 2010 450 and thought it was too low even for super tight tracks, went back to a 52. I ride mx and some pretty tight supercross tracks as well.

I don´t know how you ride but i like to take the corners on third gear -all corners. The 53T is perfect for me.

I rarely ever use 2nd gear on my bike now, third works great 99% of the time for me as well. I just found the 53 to rev out too quickly for my liking

Sounds good. Then you´re one of those few remaining riders who use the 450 as supposed = ride the torque curve. ??

If you want great starts the 53 is the only way to go....

I have never liked to rev my bike, i'm usually a gear high, that's why I have never really like the smaller displacement bikes and had no interest in the 350sxf
