TDI vs CDI Ignition on 2011 vs 2010

Can anybody shed light on the difference of TDI and CDI ignition? Looking to get a 2010 or 2011. I have an eye on a 2010 with an hour or so for $4800.

The two ignition types shown are NOT the "same except for wiring", and both have an external coil, whether it's separately mounted or coil over plug.

But the point you are both missing here is the one made by Todd: the 2010 and the 2011 have THE SAME IGNITION SYSTEM: ECU PN 33D-8591A-00-00 and all the same components on both bikes. Not sure where the idea came from that they were any different.

I'd have to say that the spec sheet for one year or other was misprinted, then.

Both bikes having the same ECU pretty much eliminates any other possibility.
