There are not too many options. Well legal ones that is. Once you get to the end of the Cannel trail it's plate required dirt roads back to Sherman Pass and down the pavement to the Rincon.

When did they open the trails up?

The Plateau trails (aka KM) are still closed. They will not open until 6/6 at the earliest.
