Stator problems

So I have a 2001 wr250f. Turns out the rivets on the flywheels come loose and the flywheel is a pain and a half to take off. Long story short, the topmost coil of my stator has a broken wire that is accessible. What I'd like to know is whether or not it is possible just to solder the broken wire to the pack and if this possibly could be the result of my bike not wanting to start

Thanks for any advice

Yes, it is probably part of why your bike runs poor. Replace the flywheel, replace the stator. Any fix, if it enables the bike to start, will fail soon if not fixed correctly.
