Tire Recommendation

Recommended Posts

Sorry if I didn't post this in the right forum section...

Anyway, looking at new tires (especially for the rear).

I ride 50% MX track (non-competitively) and 50% mining trails that are hard and rocky OR loose and muddy depending on the weather conditions...

I can't afford multiple wheels so I need one that's going to perform somewhat well in all those conditions.

I was looking at something around the Dunlop MX51 Geomax Intermediate?

Do I buy soft because it will also work on hard? Or do I buy hard because it will also work on soft? Or do I buy intermediate?

Thanks!!!

Is go with intermediate/hard.....going soft will mean your replacing tires every time you touch those rocky trails...if just deal with being a little slower on the track

Hmmm... good thought. So tires for soft conditions are also super soft? I just kind of figured the tread was thicker to sink in more.

Here's my thoughts on the tires I have ran.

Kenda Millville rear - Terrible

Kenda Millville front - Terrible

Bridgestone M403 front - amazing

Michellin StarCross rear - good

Maxxis MaxCross IT rear - amazing

All reviews coming from track riding.
