Crankshaft question - 1998 YZ250

This is a crankshaft out of a 1998 YZ250. Are the two heat marks (on either side of the big end rod bearing) normal? Maybe that's where the crank was heated at the factory so the pin could be installed? The bike had a grenaded piston, but I don't see any real damage to the big end bearing (i.e., I don't the big end bearing spun or overheated). The cylinder is okay, so I don't think the engine was starved of lubrication.

Thanks in advance! :smirk:

Yes that's normal. But, check for ANY up\down movement on the rod.

Totally normal.

Thanks for the replies. :smirk:
