'98 YZ 250 coolant leak

I am working on my sons bike and, after replacing many other parts, I had it running yesterday. The problem is, there is a small coolant leak coming from a small hole in the case on the bottom side right underneath the waterpump. Why is this hole there? Is it supposed to be there? Can I just plug it somehow? Is there somewhere I can download a manual for this bike? Thanks for any help.

Yep your impeller shaft seal is worn and leaking coolant.

Thanks for the info. That makes sense since this bike has sat for quite some time without running. Seals are probably dried up.
