Most Entertaining Reasons for Selling a Bike?

Seems like most sellers feel compelled to give a reason for selling their trusty stead and some of them are pretty funny. I just read one where the guy claims he is selling his ten hour bike because he can't sleep and needs to get it under control first. Do you have any good ones?

The guy I bought my bike from actually had a damn good reason to sell. He and his wife had a baby on the way and his wife wanted him to get rid of it before he got hurt :smirk:

Must be that turbo Busa swapped YZ125 he was looking at? :smirk: haha

Luckily my wife doesn't make those decisions for me. :smirk:

That's about as good of a reason as baby on the way, need money.... How far is that money going to go? It doesn't cost to keep a bike around, but it will when he decides to buy another one.....

From Rick Sieman's 10 Worst Dirt Bikes of All Time article, he mentioned that he saw a personal ad selling a Suzuki TM-400R Cyclone, and this was the description:

"For sale-1972 Suzuki TM-400. Only ten hours on bike. Possible injury forces sale. $500 or best offer."

I love when guys post on craigslist trading a 450 because it's to fast but wanna trade for a 250 2 stroke. I always call or email asking why.

Because saying the bike is too fast sounds better than "grenaded and I had to take out a second mortgage to repair it".

I have a bad excuse. I sold my '06 Husky to buy an '08 Husky just because the new ones had fuel injection! Do you really need a "good" reason to get a new bike?

Yes it was the fact that she was worried he was gunna get hurt and they needed the extra cash.

the always classic "im going away to school" excuse.

Selling my 2002 yz250, upgrading to an ATC300

How about selling a bike (09 yz250f), to fix a snowmobile (04 Yamaha MTN Viper 162")...

and then selling the snowmobile (MTN Viper) to buy a bike (2011 Kx250f).

Sounds like a vicious cycle to me!
