Steel valves with stock valves seat?

I'm helping a friend replacing his intake valves.

Can I use steel valves in the stock valves seat if I change valves springs?

I can buy a kit with valves retainers and springs to this bike:busted:.

The guy is a newbie.

Mr P

The bike is a crf 450 from 2007

yes you can.

Just have the seats cut first.

If youre getting real steel valves, you could lap them too.

Have a Laplander from Finland do it. Ha ha

No actually, you need lapping compound and a lapping tool and you do it by hand like this -

Thank U guys!

That helped alot!

Mr P

Can't speak for others, but our valves work great with stock seats. You would want to lap them ( very fine compound) so that you can see the condition on the seats.
