Check those wires!

Hey Kids,

Check your wires at the fuses. The red/white striped jumper wire on my 505 rubbed against the subframe. Thought I had batt problems (now it seems the failing wire insulation was allowing a slow draw and the next time out it rubbed enough to trash the wire, arc and blow the starter fuse). The problem became obvious when I was on the track and the bike no startie (with a new batt). Went to check the fuse and discovered the problem. An awful lot of push starting and purchasing a new batt could all have been avoided if only I checked the wire earlier.

Good advise right there! I discovered that first time on my -07 450 SXF and have done preventive extra isolation on all new bikes since then.:smirk:
