Cam chain/ guides, piston rings?

Recommended Posts

So im looking to replace the timing chain and guides, i know that to replace the guides the jug has to come off, but i am curious about the piston rings. am I able to reuse the rings, they were only replaced last year and i dont really want to do with out the bike for a week while the jug is out getting honed, cause there is nowhere close to me that does it. So i just Curious on what your views are on this!!!!!!

Hone the cylinder yourself. Go to some place like Auto Zone and get a ball hone. A new hone probably costs less then having a shop do it, then you have a hone for the next time.

Theres no reason why you can't reuse the rings, just be sure to align them so that the gaps are not stacked.
