Michelin Pilot Power 150/60/17, mileage report. New sprockets as well.

Recommended Posts

Nearing 21k on the clock, it was time to replace the sprockets again.

7,200 miles on the PP's & I'm starting to see the 2nd layer of rubber. I think it's good for a couple more track days & about 2k worth of commuting miles. :smirk:

New "steel" JT Sprockets installed. They are lighter than the stock steel sprockets. Anal, you say?!! Well yes, thank you!!:prof::smirk:

What do you guys do with your old discards(parts)?! Do you guys recycle them?

It's mandatory for no kickstand when you are a member of the Squid Rydaz Int'l Moto Club.

How on earth do you square of a tyre like that on the track?

What do you do, get off and push on the corners?

Out of the 7,200 miles, 600± miles of it are track miles, 6,600 miles are commuting miles, mostly on the freeway. I commute 100± miles per week, 20% of those mile side streets & 80% on the freeway.:smirk:

I wish I was able to get that kind of mileage. I average 4,000 per rear tire if I commute. If it's a play tire I get right arOund 2200.

1 1/2 week later, 100+ more miles added. The tire is showing more wear.:smirk:

I would have tossed that tire a long time ago,you could push a wood toothpick thru that center its so thin.I dont see how its worth it keeping it that long when you riding 100 miles on the freeway and all.Remember ya only got 2 tires underneath you,and no spare, pushing sucks, crashings worse..

Hey Scott,

Not sure why the motorcycle guys would give you some ribbing when you showed-up for a tire change. You probably ride more miles per week than they do in 2 months.:lol:

I usually do my own tire change at the scooter shop, or have the BMW guys just slap the new tire on. Just depends who I will have order my tire. :smirk: I normally like to change it myself since I'm anal about balancing it to the exact ounce sometimes. :prof:

Anyhow, are you coming for the Apex track day on Sunday?:smirk:
