can you sharpen foot pegs?

has anyone tried to sharpen their foot pegs instead of buying new ones?

I don't see why not

Yes, i sharpen mine when i feel they need it. Its easy.

Yeah.....a good file and a little time is all it takes.......

Are you guys just filing the groves deeper, or are you adding weld to the spikes and then shaping them with a file?

Screw a file, too much manual labor!! Use a dremel tool!

I always use a 3" 36grit disc on a mini right-angle die grinder...just have to touch it to make a point.

My bike's owners manual gives pretty good directions on how exactly to sharpen the pegs, so it should work on your yamaha too.:smirk:

ok looks like i'll give it a try. Thanks i'll also look in the manual also.

Dont make them too sharp... unless you have a grudge with the sole of your riding boots! I made the mistake and tore up a brand new pair of SG10'S....
