Lube, patience and a few beers to calm your nerves.

Not only is it hard to get on. Its hard to see if you got it on.

Only tip I have is there's a distinct pop on feel when it goes on correctly and the sub-frame bolts line right up. If you have to push the sub-frame forward with a lot of force to get their bolts to line up, the boot has folded over so start over.

Remove the rear shock

use some wd40 around the boot

slip it on.

then replace the shock before you replace any subframe bolts

You don't need to install the shock before/during the subframe/boot installation on the EFI CRF bikes. The shock can be installed after the boot/subframe are fully installed. After you do the process a few times it gets very easy, with or without the shock.

Personally, I would never lube something that I want to stay together, either. Dry all the way!
