2011 KX450F for the desert

Recommended Posts

I am considering buying a 2011 KX450F for desert riding and racing. Anyone have any experience with the 2010 or 2011 in the desert? Anyone had any problems with the KX in general?

I used to race KX500's and always had issues with them. Due to this, I went to Honda. I like the new CRF, however, I have heard the KX is the way to go. Thanks.

I ride a 11 kx 450 In the woods and desert, I like it and haven't had any mechanical problems with about 30 hrs. It's been a good bike so far

the kx450 is probably the most potent motor out there, as far as 450s are concerned. a definite plus out in the desert

I'm more of a woods and MX guy, but I did a desert race on my 2009 and it was

awesome. I threw a 14 counter sprocket (50 in the rear) and it still had more

power than I could ever need. Only motor mods I have are a twin air filter and

full FMF 4.1 exhaust.

Another great part about the KX is the IMS tank is the best aftermarket tank I've

ever owned. It is so slim you can't even tell it is there.
