2001 - KX250 : Rear wheel slop

Recommended Posts

My bike has been disassembled for a year and I'm just now able to rebuild it. So my memory of how it should have been is a bit...vague.

I didn't take the rear wheel apart, just took it off. In reassembling the rear swing-arm, there seems like a lot of slop in the rear wheel. I don't have the brakes on it yet, but I can't imagine the brake is going to control the wheel from sliding around on the axle. Everything seems to be in place from the manual as well.

Is it normal for the rear wheel to have 2 inches or so of lateral movement? What could be missing to hold it into place?

Thanks,

D

NM, I figured it out. It's the brake bracket. It's on a different page in the book from the rear-wheel assembly and mounting. Weird.
