Fork Pressure Spring HELP!

I'm in the process of revalving my suspension and swapping to a lighter set of fork pressure springs. However, for the life of me I cant figure out how to do it. I've already ground down a 13mm socket to loosen the locknut, but once it's loose where do I hold on the LSV so that I can unscrew the cap?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've already massacred that 13mm locknut, and I'd like to prevent any more damage.

I'm trying to change the fork pressure springs in the base valve not the fork springs. everything is fully disassembled and off the bike.

Look at this schematic. The only other "spring" is a part of that fork cap assembly. The nut for it is most likely staked, which you'll need to grind//file off to remove it.

it's often thread locked , you need to apply a little heat and hold the base valve in some soft jaws

there have been some threads about this, one just recently.

Better way is to take off the compression holder than to remove the stem
