Water Pump Alternative placement?

External water pumps can be hit by rocks and broken... Internal are impossible(not really, just hard) to fix. Where else could it be located? Possibly on the end of an extended camshaft? That would place it up higher. What do you think?

You could go electric and mount it anywhere.

I think KTM Husqvarna ect should all take note of this and mount them on the camshaft in the future

KTM RFS engines have the water-pump on the camshaft.
