Is the Gear shift position sensor needed?

I just noted that the Gear shift position sensor cable was broken of the unit.

Is the sensor needed?

Does anyone know if it's possible to solder the cable back to the GPS unit?

Is it difficult to dismount and reassemble it?

It is easy to remove and the cable can be soldered or repaired with an electrical connector.

Will I have to drain the engin from oil before removing the sensor?

Not if you lean her over, handlebar on your bikestand style:thumbsup:.

Important to run it. I believe it might modify the ignition curve. I remember reading a baja bike blew up and they think it was from the GPS being unplugged.
