I really want to take advantage of newer technology on my 426. I have read that 2006 triples will bolt directly to the steel 426 frame with very little issues. I also know that the 2006 forks have an offset on the axle lug to compensate for the wider triple clamps. Here's my question- What year/model (250, 450 or ?) will slide into the 2006 triple clamps? What is the better year forks? I have read that the 2007 forks are better than 2004-2006, which is better than my forks, but the data stops there and I don't know if 2008 and on are better, or if they even fit 2006 clamps. Spacers are an easy fix, but any brake system changes may cause fiduciary consternation (I'm cheap). Any information or suggestions would be appreciated. Oh, last question- My 426 is a 2002 model, and I understand that 450 shocks are the same up to a certain point (within a couple of mm's). What year stock 450 shock is the best?
