Just bought a 07 CRF250R. why is the pet cock turned around. My 06 CRF450R faces out so you can see it.

So if you go down, there's no way for the fuel to get shut off accidently. PITA, but makes sense.

I just took mine off and turned it around. It works fine.

Thanks for the responses. I thought that might be the reason but I wasnt sure due my 450R not being that way.I will change it.

My '05 had the fuel petcock (<-- weird name!! - "tap" works for me...) all facing the inside, but when the guys who plated it left in the cleaning acid for longer than necessary ? I needed to replace it.

I took a 450 one home and it fitted perfectly and the "right" way round, so no more contortions to turn fuel on/off ?
