Torque settings urgently needed

Recommended Posts

Can anyone assist? I am putting my KLR 600 back together and the CD I have with all the specs on has been damaged. Can anyone tell me any of the following torque settings:

1. Head bolts - the 4 big ones.

2. Cam caps - the bolts that hold the caps on top of the cam shafts.

Also how to set up the valve timing. I believe the arrows on the cam gearsshould both face outwards, is this correct?

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Radds.

valve timing...at TDC, mark in the window (or feel for it with a rod in the sparkplug hole) the ex cam lobes point forward, the intakes point aft. the lines (with the arrows) should be REASONABLY parallel to the parting surface. sometimes they will be off just slightly and no amount of fiddling with chain position will change it.... thats the way it is my friend. check it with the slack out of the chain...stick your finger in the tensioner hole & push on the chain

P.S. I've seen the arrows point both ways.... go figger.... just look at the lobes
