PJ carb issues....Should I spend the money on PWK?

Recommended Posts

I'm a recent owner of a '93 300. I've had it out 2 rides and I'm very impressed with the bike, but it spit oil (spooge) all over the fender and my jersey. I've been doing some research on here about jetting (discovered mine is way off) but they all seem to mention the PWK carb. What about the PJ? I have also discovered that the choke-idle adjustment has been "glued" back together and is bent, possibly and air leak for me. So, I need to replace that. When I start adding up all the #'s; new slide, jet kit, new choke assemby....it adds up quickly!! Can I or should I just buy a new-used PWK with a #7 slide, proper needle, and closer jetting?? Or should I keep and spend the money on my PJ?

My current carb status.

I'm not sure on how to answer your question but I do have a 38mm carb minus slide from a 99 300 I'm willing to let go for a better than fair price. Pm me if interested.
