Valvetrain Gasket sealant

Does everybody use a gasket sealant when they're reinstalling the valvetrain gasket after checking valves or doing any other head work? I always do, but its a pain in the butt to clean off and makes a mess. Just curious if you guys use it, or if it can go without.

I don't use any sealant, but I usually get a slight oil leakage. Not enough to worry about, but enough to collect some dirt.

i usually use rtv blue

and just a tiny bead. but the metal has to be perfectly clean 1st.

I use the Yamabond. I just usually end up smearing it while trying to get the gasket or cover on

Original gasket on my 2002wr426. Check the valves every 6 months or so and have never used sealant and never leaked a drop.

I use some around the half circles and around spark plug hole. Very little tho
