18" rear wheel

Recommended Posts

Thinking about going 18" rear on my 05 CR250

What rim manufacture is best for the least money

Is it difficult or even possible to lace and true a wheel with just a spoke wrench?

Is there another option that is not so obvious to me like finding an older complete CR 18" wheel on ebay? would an older CR wheel even fit? I don't like taking a chance on used but I also don't want to break the bank

I laced new Moose rims to my '93 CR125. If I had to do it over again, I'd spend a few more bucks and get Excel rims. The Moose rims work ok, but they start out so out of round that you are in for a fight. The few Excel rims that I've used are round/straight before you start.

With that said - I prefer the feel of the 19" rear wheel. The 18" wheel makes it feel more like a bouncy atv tire to me...
